Admission to Poliba – Polytechnic University of Bari's two-year Master's Degree Courses

Before enrolling, you must complete the Admission Procedure for Two-Year Master's Degrees at the Polytechnic University of Bari. This will allow us to verify that you meet all the admission requirements necessary to access your chosen course of study.

APPLICATION PERIODS: WHEN
The admission procedure is mandatory and allows you to gain admission to the two-year Master's Degree programmes at the Polytechnic University of Bari.
It must be completed prior to the enrolment procedure in order to verify that all the requirements for admission to the course of study are met and to obtain eligibility for enrolment.
You may apply for only one Master's Degree programme and only after having obtained your three-year degree.
Once you have obtained eligibility for enrolment, you can proceed with enrolment in your chosen Master's degree programme.
Those who enrol from 1 February 2026 will be required to enrol as part-time students.

As established by the Academic Senate at its meeting on 14 July 2025, applications for admission to two-year Master's Degree programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year will be accepted during the following periods:
- 28 July – 15 September 2025
- 1–15 October 2025
- 1–15 November 2025
- 1–15 December 2025
- 5–20 January 2026
- 1–15 February 2026
- 1–15 March 2026
- 1–15 April 2026
- 2 – 10 May 2026
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The "admission requirements" that will be assessed are, in order:
1. Curriculum requirements concerning:
- possession of the appropriate entry qualification (first-level degree or other academic qualification, including those obtained abroad, recognised as suitable and already obtained) as required by the Teaching Regulations of the Master's Degree course to which you wish to enrol;
- possession of a specific minimum number of credits obtained in sets of Scientific Disciplinary Areas, if required by the Teaching Regulations of the Master's Degree course to which you wish to enrol; for foreign qualifications, the academic curriculum will be analysed;
2. Adequacy of individual preparation: verification of individual knowledge in accordance with the Teaching Regulations of the Master's Degree programme to which you wish to enrol;
3. Assessment of the required language skills: for all Master's Degree courses, knowledge of English is assessed at a minimum level, as established by the Teaching Regulations. Please also refer to the provisions for non-EU students in Art. 6.

The Esse3 procedure will only be operational during these periods; outside these periods, it will not be possible to apply for admission.

HOW IT WORKS
To apply, you must submit your application via the appropriate procedure on the Esse3 portal, in the Secretariat –> Admission Tests/Competitions section during one of the application periods mentioned above, during which you can submit your online application, selecting the Master's Degree course (called 'Preference') for which you wish to apply.
To create an Esse3 profile, you must access the Esse3 Menu on this page.
Select the Master's Degree course (called 'Preference') for which you wish to apply and attach the required documentation, duly completed, which you will find further down this page.
You may only apply for one Master's Degree programme.
- Upon examination of the documentation provided, to verify that it complies with the requirements of the procedure (completeness, adequacy);
- Whether you meet the requirements (see the 'Admission requirements' section).

It is necessary to select and enter a double preference only for students who intend to enrol simultaneously in two Master's degree courses offered by the Polytechnic University of Bari. In all other cases, it will be necessary to select and enter only one preference.
Please note: once in the "Admission Tests/Competitions" area, you must select admission to two-year master's degree courses. You should not click on the course name, as this is only a link to the course description, but you should click on the blue "Next" button at the bottom to continue with the admission application.
At the end of the application period, the Teaching Services Centre will take charge of all applications and carry out an administrative check that will focus on:
- Examination of the documentation submitted to verify that it meets the requirements of the procedure (completeness, adequacy);
- Checking that the applicant meets the requirements (see the 'Admission requirements' section)
DOCUMENTATION TO BE ATTACHED TO THE APPLICATION
During the application process, you must upload the following attachments:
→ Valid identification document. The following are accepted:
- Identity card;
- Driving licence;
- Passport (mandatory for non-EU candidates residing abroad).
→ Previous career documentation. Specifically:
- Candidates with an Italian academic qualification must self-certify their previous career by completing the appropriate SELF-CERTIFICATION – DEGREE AWARD form. Under no circumstances will these candidates be required to produce certificates, in accordance with Law 183/2011 and subsequent amendments and additions.
- Students with a three-year degree not obtained at the Politecnico must also self-certify their high school diploma using the appropriate SELF-CERTIFICATION – HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA form.
- Candidates with foreign qualifications must certify their academic career using the following documents:
1) Certification of the attainment of the upper secondary school qualification issued by the foreign institution and official translation into Italian or English;
2) certification of the first-cycle academic qualification, complete with a list of the exams taken to obtain it, translated into Italian or English with a certified translation.

NON-MANDATORY ATTACHMENTS: LANGUAGE CERTIFICATES
You can demonstrate the minimum level of English required for admission in one of the following ways, if provided for in the Teaching Regulations of your chosen course:
- Language certification recognised by the Polytechnic University of Bari and included in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR); for certificates issued by Trinity College, the Polytechnic University of Bari will only recognise "ISE" certificates and not "GRADE" certificates; click here to consult the table of certificates recognised by the Polytechnic University of Bari;
- Passing the exam at the University Language Centre. The exam schedule and procedures for taking the assessment test can be found on our Centre's page.
For Master's degree courses that require a minimum level of B1 in English, it will be sufficient to have passed at least one English language exam during your Bachelor's degree.
Non-EU students applying for a visa may upload their language certification in Italian.
POSSIBLE OUTCOMES AND ENROLMENT
You can view the outcome of your application on the Esse3 Portal, in the "Admission Tests/Competitions" section, where you will have already submitted your application.
The admission procedure has two possible outcomes:
- "Rejected", if you do not currently meet all the admission requirements (1, 2 or 3). In this case, you will not be admitted (eligible for enrolment) and you will receive instructions on any requirements that need to be met (see the Regulations);
- "Admitted", if you meet all the admission requirements and are eligible for enrolment.
